The ADAPTAGRI project is a collaborative initiative addressing the common challenge of enhancing resilience in agriculture and mitigating the impact of climate change in the Black Sea Basin area, including Türkiye, Greece, and Bulgaria. The project aims to develop and implement innovative solutions that promote smart and green practices in field crop agriculture, leading to sustainable and resilient food production systems.

All applications will be added to the expert pool of Thrace Development Agency.

Position Details for the Needs Assessment Expert

Duration:  Part-time: approximately 300 hours within 18 months

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that project activities are carried out in alignment with the expectations and needs of target groups.
  • Plan quantitative and qualitative methods, such as surveys, in-depth interviews, and focus groups, to gather information.
  • Collect data using planned methods and develop strategies based on the resulting findings.
  • Collaborate with other team members in analyzing collected data and reports.
  • Elaborate on the needs and requirements of the project and its stakeholders, analyze gaps, and develop strategies to address identified needs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • English speaking and writing proficiency.
  • Being familiar with agriculture and the use of technology in agriculture.
  • At least 2 years of field experience in survey design, data collection methods, data analysis, and strategy formulation.
  • Experience in projects and activities funded by EU or UN programs is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Excellent IT skills (including MS Office, Teams, Zoom, Miro, social media & CRM platforms).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: able to work with large, geographically and culturally diverse teams, and deliver results.
  • Experience coordinating multi-stakeholder tasks and timelines.

 

Position Details for the Research and Analysis Expert

Duration: Part-time (approximately 300 hours within 18 months)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on the digital and green transformation of agricultural activities in the region and cross-border areas.
  • Carry out field research, collect data, analyze gathered data, and report on these analyses.
  • Collaborate with other team members in analyzing collected data and reports.
  • Support the preparation of various reports such as literature reviews, current situation and needs analyses, best practices research, and reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

  • English speaking and writing proficiency.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 5 years of field experience in research, project, and activity implementation related to smart agriculture, precision agriculture, and digital and green transformation in agriculture.
  • Past project experience funded by EU or UN programs is preferred.
  • Excellent IT skills (including MS Office, Teams, Zoom, Miro, social media & CRM platforms).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: able to work with large, geographically and culturally diverse teams, and deliver results.
  • Experience coordinating multi-stakeholder tasks and timelines.

 

 

Position Details for the Policy and Strategy Expert

Duration: Part-time (approximately 300 hours within 18 months)

Responsibilities

  • Determine new roadmaps for local and regional development based on data obtained throughout the project duration.
  • Develop alternative policy proposals and prepare plans.
  • Conduct local, regional, national, and cross-border policy dialogue meetings.
  • Negotiate with relevant stakeholders to ensure and develop interregional cooperation.
  • Collaborate with team members for analyzing collected data and reports to develop action plans.
  • Lead the process of defining local and national policy proposals, in consultation with relevant stakeholders and other team members.
  • Lead the co-development of strategy and action plans at the interregional level and for each partnering country.
  • Engage with relevant decision-makers to advocate for the adoption of green agriculture-enabling policies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High fluency in English speaking and writing proficiency.
  • Knowledge of global trends and policies in agriculture, especially climate-smart agriculture.
  • Knowledge of national agricultural legislation and policies.
  • At least 5 years of experience in agricultural innovations, smart and sustainable agricultural activities, rural development and planning, and managing relations with local stakeholders.
  • Project experience funded by EU or UN programs is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Excellent IT skills (including MS Office, Teams, Zoom, Miro, social media & CRM platforms).

Position Details for the Digitalization Expert in Agriculture

Duration: Part-time (approximately 170 hours within 18 months)

Responsibilities

  • Support the project team in designing and implementing smart agriculture pilot applications and training.
  • Utilize GIS and GIS-based applications for field mapping, soil analysis, and yield prediction using satellite/drone imagery.
  • Apply field management software and decision support systems for climate scenarios, water use estimation, disease diagnosis, fertilization, and spraying.
  • Assist in preparing research, reports, and training curricula, and providing training in these areas.
  • Utilize spatial data, maps, and geospatial analysis techniques to support decision-making within the project.

Qualifications and Experience

  • English speaking and writing proficiency.
  • At least 5 years of experience with software and applications widely used in smart agriculture in Turkey.
  • Familiarity with software and applications widely used in Bulgaria and Greece.
  • Past project experience funded by EU or UN programs and training experience in these fields are preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as agricultural engineering, software engineering, electronic engineering.
  • Excellent IT skills (including MS Office, Teams, Zoom, Miro, social media & CRM platforms).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: able to work with large, geographically and culturally diverse teams, and deliver results.
  • Experience coordinating multi-stakeholder tasks and timelines.

 

Position Details for the Help Desk Coordinator

Duration: Part-time (approximately 180 hours within 18 months)

Responsibilities

  • Respond to questions and support requests from project stakeholders, activity participants, and target groups.
  • Coordinate help activities carried out by other partners.
  • Manage and coordinate the help desks established by each partner.
  • Facilitate communication, provide assistance and address inquiries from project participants, stakeholders, and the general public.
  • Report to the Project Coordinator on periodical basis.
  • Promote and assist the effective use of the digital library by users.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High fluency in English speaking and writing proficiency.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in communication activities of multinational and multicultural projects.
  • Past project experience funded by EU or UN programs are preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Excellent IT skills (including MS Office, Teams, Zoom, Miro, social media & CRM platforms).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: able to work with large, geographically and culturally diverse teams, and deliver results.

Position Details for the Stakeholder Engagement Expert

Duration: Part-time (approximately 180 hours within 18 months)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the participation of stakeholders in project activities, especially the online platform to be established.
  • Undertake necessary measures for stakeholder engagement, such as conducting visits and organizing information meetings.
  • Contribute to the invitation process for stakeholders to the "BSB Platform for Smart and Green Recovery in Agriculture".
  • Support active engagement with stakeholders, including chambers of agriculture, Provincial Directorates of Agriculture, and farmers, throughout the pilot implementation phase.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • English speaking and writing proficiency.
  • At least 5 years of experience in communication related positions.
  • Past project experience funded by EU or UN programs and a bachelor's degree in agricultural engineering are preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in agricultural engineering.

Position Details for the Smart Agriculture Expert

Duration: Part-time (approximately 450 hours within 18 months)

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement project activities focused on smart agriculture demonstration, training, and awareness-raising.
  • Support the implementation of needs analysis, platform development, and policy development activities.
  • Provide guidance and advice on agricultural practices, sustainable farming techniques, and crop management.
  • Contribute to the content development for informational materials like digital brochures.
  • Contribute to the content development and implementation of workshops for farmers and public officers on best practices in field crop management and sustainable farming practices.

Qualifications and Experience

  • English speaking and writing proficiency.
  • Bachelor's degree in agricultural engineering.
  • At least 10 years of experience in climate-smart agriculture and sustainable farming techniques and practices.
  • Knowledge of crop patterns and farmer habits in the Thrace Region.
  • Past project experience funded by EU or UN programs and training experience in these fields are preferred.
  • Excellent IT skills (including MS Office, Teams, Zoom, Miro, social media & CRM platforms).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: able to work with large, geographically and culturally diverse teams, and deliver results.

Position Details for the Smart Agriculture Technologies Expert

Duration: Part-time (approximately 450 hours within 18 months)

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement project activities such as demonstration, training, and awareness development related to the use of smart agriculture technologies, including drone-based spraying and irrigation in agricultural production.
  • Support the implementation of needs analysis, platform development, and policy development activities.
  • Provide expertise in utilizing digital tools, sensors, data analytics, and other technological solutions to optimize field crop production and resource management.
  • Contribute to the content development for informational materials like digital brochures.
  • Contribute to the pilot implementation of drone usage for smart and green recovery in agriculture in the TR21 Region of Türkiye.

Qualifications and Experience

  • English speaking and writing proficiency.
  • Bachelor's degree in agricultural engineering.
  • At least 10 year of experience in smart agriculture technologies.
  • Past project experience funded by EU or UN programs and training experience in these fields are preferred.
  • Excellent IT skills (including MS Office, Teams, Zoom, Miro, social media & CRM platforms).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: able to work with large, geographically and culturally diverse teams, and deliver results.
